FIRE, the industry-led Forum for Innovation and Research in European Earth Observation, was a Horizon 2020 project aimed at shaping the Research and Innovation Strategy for Earth Observation (EO) solutions in Europe. It focused on user communities in a range of sectors including agriculture, wind energy, raw materials, infrastructure, marine & maritime, and urban development. A dedicated ‘EO Evangelist’ programme promoted the adoption of EO solutions in these sectors. Open dialogue with users, through focus groups and networking events, guided the development, delivery, and uptake of EO products and services for these sectors in Europe.
With a background in Earth Observation, sector knowledge of user industries, and strategic guidance, Evenflow synthesised findings from desk research, focus group discussions, and dialogues with sector users and policy makers into a sector development roadmap with more than 30 proposed actions.
Further, applying its communication competences, Evenflow performed the strategic communication and dissemination for FIRE, to maximise the sustainable impact of project activities.
