Monitoring the complex systems of inland water bodies
Duration
Dec 2016 - Jan 2020

EOMORES was a Horizon 2020 project aimed at creating a commercially viable, novel, precise, and potentially more cost-effective system for the monitoring of inland and coastal waters, using Earth Observation (EO) alongside other monitoring methods.

Optical in situ data was combined with Sentinel-based EO data, while both were used as input for modelling within EOMORES in order to predict future variations in water quality.

An underlying mission within EOMORES has been promoting the ground-breaking benefits EO has to offer in assessing the quality of inland and coastal waters. The EOMORES products address the imminent need for implementing efficient and homogeneous solutions by Member States, dictated by one of the most ambitious pieces of environmental legislation in Europe: the Water Framework Directive, but also by the political momentum and the growing societal awareness of environmental protection.

Evenflow’s role

Our role as leaders of the Dissemination and Service Evolution work package was to:

  • Conduct market research and assess the target market
  • Develop a business plan to guide commercialisation and exploitation, as well as drafting a legal agreement for post-project collaborations between the partners
  • Develop a targeted communication and dissemination strategy focused on water monitoring authorities, as well as engaging private actors in the field of water quality
  • Producing communication materials, such as the project and product websites, leaflets, and product portfolio
  • Developing a commercial website for the services

Evenflow is also supporting the commercial roll-out of the EOMORES services after the end of the project.
