European GNSS Galileo and EGNOS & Transportation

Given their superior performance in urban environments and unique features (such as the authentication services), the European GNSS Galileo and EGNOS have the potential to improve existing urban public transport solutions and enable new ones (e.g. autonomous shuttles, Mobility-as-a-Service solutions).

Urban Public Transport Market

Evenflow, alongside its partners, has been advising GSA on how to best approach the Urban Public Transport market, raise awareness around the EGNSS benefits, and promote adoption. We led the development of a market entry strategy, taking into account the competitive landscape, the needs of both public transport authorities and transport operators and opportunities and/or threats likely to accelerate or impede adoption of innovative solutions.

Subsequently, on-site meetings with the relevant stakeholders were organised (for instance, in Germany and Bulgaria) to discuss the technical, procurement, and operational aspects of EGNSS-enabled solutions which enabled a better understanding of the local operational realities. Following these discussions, the municipalities and public transport authorities concretely committed to adopt EGNSS in current or future urban public transport solutions.
