The main objective of this activity is to develop and operate the EOPF Sentinel Zarr Samples Service, which supports the transition to the new Earth Observation Processing Framework (EOPF) Zarr data format. As part of its commitment to fostering cutting-edge innovation through Earth Observation, ESA has launched the Service to promote the adoption of a common, cloud-native, and interoperable data format.
The EOPF Sentinel Zarr Samples Service plays a key role in this transition by providing early access to Sentinel data in Zarr format via the Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem. It aims to boost user uptake by showcasing how this new format can enhance performance, usability, and integration across various applications.
To support adoption, the service offers an expanding collection of notebooks, tutorials and a catalogue of plugins that enable users to explore and interact with data in the new format.
Evenflow leads user uptake and communication activities for the EOPF Sentinel Zarr Samples Service. This includes organising regular webinars, producing a monthly newsletter, and providing responsive community support to help users navigate the tools and services. These combined efforts ensure meaningful engagement and drive early adoption of the new format.
