RITHMS is a Horizon Europe project addressing the illicit trafficking of cultural heritage goods through the development of advanced tools, methodologies, and collaborative approaches. The project brings together research, technology, and policy expertise to support law enforcement, heritage professionals, and public authorities in protecting cultural assets.
To promote the adoption of the RITHMS platform, developed to support the fight against illicit trafficking of cultural heritage goods implementing AI, Social Network Analys, GEOINT and Natural Language Processing into a user-centred tool, we developed a comprehensive Exploitation and Sustainability Strategy around the key exploitable results elaborated during the project. The strategy was designed to secure the uptake by a different array of stakeholders (involving law enforcements agencies, customs, ministries, museums, EU bodies and research actors), converting research outputs into licensable capabilities, operational services and open knowledge. Building on this, we also assessed the anticipated economic, societal, and technological impacts of the RITHMS platform, in the perspective of complementing, rather than replacing, trusted ecosystems (e.g., Interpol, Europol, WCO) in this context.
