The Copernicus Protected Areas product (formerly Natura 2000 / N2K) provides harmonised spatial data to support consistent biodiversity monitoring, conservation planning, and environmental policy across Europe. Similarly to Urban Atlas, we support the European Environment Agency in reaching end users and key stakeholders in driving the uptake of the product and helping it evolve into a core element in their workflows.
As with Urban Atlas, we lead the user uptake component of the Protected Areas production, supported by technical members of the consortium, working to develop a full communication and outreach toolkit, web content, feature stories, presentations, and social media assets.
The work also included user outreach and event support, such as stakeholder group consultations and webinars, as well as a technical showcase toolkit with Jupyter notebooks and tutorials.
